A Tabletop Workshop taking place at the Purr & Wag It home studio in Camberwell, London. The weekend sessions run in the afternoon from 10am and the evening from 6.30pm. Please note I need a minimum of 3 participants to run this workshop. The fast fix way to make some beautiful felt mistletoe to add to your festive decoration collection. The Everlasting Mistletoe Sprig and Wreath ((20cm Ø ) use a combination of cutting and stitching techniques. The Sprig also uses a simple wire wrapping technique. Made using 100% wool once you've cut and wrapped your branches or wreath you'll attach berries and leaves by hand stitching. A final flourish is the red organza ribbon bow. With the sprig as you will be cutting your leaves during the workshop you may not stitch all of these and the berries to your sprig within the session. However, you'll take away sufficient materials to do so at home. If you have arthritis in your hands or a similar condition you may find binding the wire tautly a little tricky but I can help you with this. Also the stitch work is likely to take a little longer. Very much a case of straight forward once you know how. PS: the last photos are of bunches. Rag rug weaving has been traditionally used to produce domestic rugs by recycling precious woven fabrics. In todays world where there is lots of discarded fabrics and textiles we can upcycle fabrics to produce produce textile surface of colour, texture and pattern. In this workshop you will learn to use colour, texture and design to produce a piece of work that can be used for a cushion, wall hanging, seat cover, bed head etc...

Inspired by Mother Earth nature we are offering for beginners to textile art the opportunity to study visually and practically the art of making a basic ‘Arpillera’ piece using upcycled and new fabrics. A fun project with appliqué and hand embroidery stitches. Participants will learn technical stitches, design composition and execution in their own Arpillera design. A great opportunity to join us and start your amazing journey of creating scenes of flora, fauna and people from Peru or your own locale with cloth and threads with the concept of using pieces of unwanted garments, recycled and up-recycled textiles. This workshop is brought to you by Bella Lane, who is from Iquitos Peru, Master Peruvian embroiderer, trained at the Royal School of Needlework and a world embroidery stitch collector. Learn how to create this stunning 'Textured Embroidery Hoop'. I will show you how to create a wide variety of rich textures in this fun, easy workshop, it's amazing how quick it all comes together! You will leave with a beautiful hoop ready to hang and be admired! The techniques are all stitched using hand sewing and embroidery techniques and once you have learnt them they can be used in any order or arrangement you want on your hoop. All materials are provided to create a very similar hoop to the one pictured here, but please feel free to bring your own fabrics, ribbons, and thread if you have some materials you might want to use or you wish to create a different colour scheme to the pink/turquoise version. No prior experience is needed as you will gain knowledge of how to create really interesting textures that can be used in a variety of ways for any future creations you may make! All materials and light refreshments will be provided. Bring your imagination and curiosity to enjoy the day!

DUMEBI are offering an intermediate to advanced embroidery class at their Boutique & Atelier In Chelsea London where all the magic happens and where they create all their handmade designs worn by celebrities. During this 2 hour a week, 6 weeks intermediate to advanced Embroidery course you will be using the same structure as the 6 weeks beginner course just more advanced and more time to develop your skills. You will be taught the following various embroidery techniques: 1st week- hand embroidery using metallic thread on calico 2nd week- machine embroidery (freehand) using metallic threads and the freehand foot on a domestic sewing machine. A great way to learn how to embroider your own unique designs without the use of a digital embroidery machine - you will be able to create embroidery designs from home with your domestic sewing machine without having to invest in a very expensive embroidery machine. 3rd week- beadwork - creating 3D Embroidery samples using beads and crystals. 4h & 5th week - appliqué - you will cut out intricate lace pieces and create a lace appliqué Embroidery sample 6th week - you will make a small sample using the combined techniques learned on this course
